Sanctuary Lamp Intentions

Both St. Bernard & St. Matthew Churches have ‘hearing devices’ tied into the sound system. If you would like to use one of the hearing devices, you can ask for one before Mass. At St. Matthew in the vesting room by the front doors At St. Bernard in the Sacristy - enter through the door by Mary The hearing devices are small with an ear plug and clean ‘booties’ to use.

Rock 'n Roll Benefit Dance

Saturday, June 8th 7:00pm - 10:00pm in the St. Bernard Church Hall The Knights of Columbus are proud to announce "Rock for Cornerstone", a dance fundraiser for The Cornerstone Foundation. Come dance to a live band - "Turnabout" - with music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Turnabout plays benefit dances and has helped raise funds for Kidsafe CT, Foodshare, Manchester Pantry, and the Alzheimer's Association of CT and many other worthy groups. Bishop Cote has assigned Larry Barile to St. Bernard and St. Matthew parishes for his summer pastoral work this year. Larry is entering his third year of theology this fall and is awaiting the call for orders for Transitional Deacon in the spring of 2020. This is a wonderful period for Larry as he continues his formation for priestly ministry by assisting our parish families. We encourage Larry and ask for remembrance of him and all our seminarians in your prayers. Welcome Larry!

Memorial Day Mass

Monday, May 27th at 10:00am St. Bernard Cemetery Our community will celebrate a special Mass on Memorial Day at St. Bernard Cemetery (in the historic section, by the altar) for all those buried in our cemetery and for all deceased members of our parishes. Mass will be at 10:00 am. Please note there will be no Adoration nor 8:00am Mass on Memorial Day. Plan to arrive early and bring your lawn chairs. In the event of rain, Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard Church.

Dear Parish Family, As Father Rick announced last weekend, the Churches of Saint Bernard and Saint Matthew are In the process of becoming one parish.  While we are retaining the names of our two churches, the diocese has asked us to choose a new name for our combined parish.  The Church of St Matthew and the Church of St Bernard will be churches within the new parish on July 1st. St. Bernard Cemetery has an opening for a Summer Intern to help with cemetery work including weed whacking, lawn maintenance, and some heavy lifting. The applicant must be 18, able to work 35 hours/week between 7:00 am and 2:30 pm Monday – Friday. The pay is $12/hour with no benefits. The month of May is dedicated to Our Blessed Mother Mary “The Miraculous Medal” On November 27, 1830, Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Catherine  LabourĂ©, a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. It was during that visit on November 27, that Mary asked Sister Catherine to have a medal made.
