Children’s Liturgy of the Word The Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW) ministry needs your help! We are in need of a new Coordinator to train and schedule volunteers. In addition, we also need volunteers to lead the lessons each week, as well as to assist with the supervision of the children. We provide all of the trainings and materials needed, we just need kind and willing parishioners to help! This is also a wonderful opportunity for teenagers in the Confirmation Program, or those who are newly confirmed. Please note we recently enhanced our telephone systems to improve communication for you and between St. Matthew and St. Bernard.   In this process, we also changed some telephone extensions which are on the website now and will be in the bulletin starting next week. The new system will allow clergy and staff to receive calls directly to their cell phones as well as sending voicemails instantly by email.

Food Collection May 20th & 21st Suggestions for donations:  Spaghetti sauce, fruit cup & pudding cup packs, peanut butter, jelly & jam, canned meat (tuna, chicken, spam), hot & cold cereal, clothes detergent, dish detergent, bar soaps, toothpaste, shampoo, paper towels, and toilet tissue. Louise Mlodzinski bequeaths over $1,000,000 for St. Bernard Cemetery improvements and maintenance. St. Bernard Cemetery, which serves the area Catholic communities of St. Matthew, St. Luke, St. Joseph, St. Maurice, Sacred Heart and St. Bernard, will be undertaking major improvements because of a gift of over $1,000,000 to St. Bernard Cemetery by Louise Mlodzinski who passed away July 5, 2015 at the age of 99.  Disbursement of the gift was recently approved by the Probate Court. Louise handled the accounting for the former Starr Hardware location in Rockville and formed her own florist and gift shop adjacent to them...
