We keep the names of active members of the military in our St. Michael the Archangel Prayer Book to keep them in prayer during their service to our country. If you would like to add a family member to the book or if they have returned from service, please contact the Parish Secretary so we may keep the book current. We will be praying for these active military members during our Advent Penance service. For security reasons, we no longer publish the names of active military members in our bulletin.

Note Regarding 5pm Mass on December 1st The Town of Tolland will be having their Christmas Tree Lighting event on the Green on Saturday, December 1st at 4:00pm. Travel around the Tolland Green may be affected. Please keep this in mind if you will be attending the 5:00pm Mass on December 1st.

We are looking for two people to join a Tuesday team. The team works once every 5 weeks. Hours are 4:45pm - 6:00pm. Jobs include setting up, serving the meal, clean-up, wiping tables, sweeping and mopping. The soup kitchen is located around the corner from St. Bernard. Parishioners are invited to bring in food items until Thanksgiving morning. Father Rick will bless the food and volunteers will deliver the food to the Cornerstone Soup Kitchen after Thanksgiving Mass. Your generosity will make a difference in the lives of those who are truly struggling. At St. Bernard, place donations at the entrance of the Church At St. Matthew, place donations at the entrance to the Parish Center (items brought to St. Matthew will be donated to the Tolland Food Pantry).

This year our community will celebrate together at St. Bernard. All who are attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Cornerstone Soup Kitchen in Rockville. During Mass the food items will be brought to the Altar to be blessed.

St. Matthew Classroom 1 In the last few weeks St. Matthew’s Justice and Peace Committee has run comments in the bulletin about small ways we can support immigrants...as our faith calls us to do. Another action to consider is coming to the next Justice and Peace meeting! Our group is involved in everything from the school supply collection each August, information nights such as Caregiver Roadshow, and supporting of immigrants. Our twinned parish, St. Pierre in Haiti is having a critical problem with theft of food and supplies from their complex. They have a wall surrounding the school complex but it is too low and insecure to prevent break-ins and thefts. The cost to raise the wall height and make it secure is $6,500.
